Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: 2.1.1.LI.3 - Generate and interpret graphs and charts to visualise data.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least three types of charts (bar chart, pie chart, line graph) and state the kind of data each is best used to represent.
- Generate a bar chart, a pie chart and a line graph from a given data set using spreadsheet software.
- Interpret data presented in graphical formats by reading values, comparing categories and describing trends.
- Explain the strengths and limitations of each chart type when presenting numerical information.

The official curriculum document has a fault in this entry, so the curriculum text above is transcribed exactly as printed:
- content standard text - p.48: the content-standard token is visibly printed `2.1.1.CS1`, which omits the separator before the final sequence; `2.1.1.CS.1` is used as the import code only to preserve the document's year/strand/sub-strand association
