Learning Objectives
Indicator: 1.1.2.LI.2 - Discuss the role of nutrition in healthy living
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define nutrition and explain why the body requires the right balance of nutrients for healthy living.
- Classify the six classes of nutrients and identify at least one local Ghanaian food source for each class.
- Explain the specific function(s) of each nutrient class in maintaining human health.
- Discuss the consequences of poor nutrition on physical and mental health, using strategic reasoning to analyse cause-and-effect relationships.
- Create a food chart showing common local Ghanaian foods and their nutritional components.
