By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define proper nouns and common nouns and give two examples of each.
  2. Identify proper nouns that name cities and countries in given sentences.
  3. Identify common nouns in given sentences.
  4. Form their own sentences using proper nouns for cities and countries and common nouns.
  5. Distinguish between proper nouns and common nouns when reading a short passage.
  6. Locate and name cities and countries on a map or globe and use them correctly in sentences.
