Learning Objectives
Indicator: B6.6.1.1.4 - Outline what one needs to connect to the Internet.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- List at least four essential items or services needed to connect a device to the Internet.
- Explain the role of each item (device, Internet Service Provider, modem or router, and a subscription or data plan) in making an Internet connection work.
- Differentiate between hardware (physical equipment) and services (paid or free access) required for Internet connectivity.
- Arrange the steps for connecting a device to the Internet in the correct order.
- Identify problems that can occur when one of the required items is missing or faulty, and suggest a simple solution.
