Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.6.1.1.2 - Describe how the internet works.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define the four network types (PAN, LAN, MAN, WAN) and state one feature of each.
  2. Arrange the four network types in order from smallest to largest coverage area.
  3. Explain how the internet is formed when many networks around the world are connected together.
  4. Describe the journey of a message (such as a photo or a letter) from one device to another across the internet.
  5. Give one example of everyday activity in Ghana that uses the internet.
