Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.6.8.1.3 - Use a variety of new vocabulary learnt about the theme to create an informational text for reading using LEA

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Recall and say at least 5 new vocabulary words about light sources (sun, moon, candle, torch, lamp, firefly, bulb) when shown pictures or real objects.
  2. Contribute one or more sentences about light sources during a shared writing session, using the new vocabulary words correctly.
  3. Read along with the teacher as the class reads the group-written informational text aloud together.
  4. Point to and track the words in the class informational text from left to right as the teacher reads.
  5. Identify and name at least 3 natural light sources and 3 man-made light sources from the text created.
