Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.5.1.1.3 - Analyse the sequence of events across texts (descriptive, auto-biography, biography, narrative and play script/drama)

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify the key events in a narrative, a biography and a play script and state the order in which they occur.
Explain how the sequence of events (plot structure) differs across descriptive texts, biographies, autobiographies, narratives and play scripts.
Compare events across at least two different text types and discuss similarities and differences in how the events are arranged.
Arrange a jumbled set of events from a play script into a correct chronological sequence with reasons for their choices.
Create a short narrative or play script with a clear sequence of events (beginning, middle, end) and present it to the class.
