By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify euphemism, hyperbole and onomatopoeia in selected narratives, poems and drama extracts.
- Explain the effect of each literary device on the meaning of a text.
- Use euphemism and hyperbole appropriately in original spoken sentences.
- Use onomatopoeia to create vivid sound effects in short written passages.
- Work in pairs to present a short dialogue that contains at least two literary devices.
