Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.5.3.1.1 - Identify and use nouns or noun phrases to refer to quantities or units.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define a noun phrase that refers to a quantity or unit (for example, “a piece of paper”, “a pair of shoes”).
  2. Identify quantity and unit nouns in given sentences and short passages.
  3. Match common nouns with the correct unit or quantity words (a loaf of bread, a bottle of water, a packet of sugar).
  4. Use noun phrases with quantity and unit words correctly in their own sentences.
  5. Apply unit nouns and quantity words appropriately in a short classroom dialogue or written paragraph.
