Learning Objectives

Indicator: B4.5.3.1.2 - Identify and use proper nouns and common nouns

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define proper nouns (names of specific cities, countries, people, places) and common nouns (general names of people, places, things).
  2. Read simple sentences aloud and identify the proper nouns (names of cities and countries) and common nouns within them.
  3. Sort a mixed list of nouns into two groups: proper nouns and common nouns.
  4. Identify proper nouns and common nouns from paragraphs or passages.
  5. Form their own sentences using proper nouns (names of cities and countries) and common nouns correctly, using capital letters for proper nouns.
