Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.3.3.1.3 - Use new vocabulary acquired to create their own drama on how to show themselves as patriotic citizens of their country.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Say and explain at least three new words related to patriotism, such as “patriotic,” “citizen,” “truthful,” “respect,” and “honest.”
  2. Role-play a short scene showing a patriotic act, such as returning lost money to its owner or being a hardworking citizen.
  3. Work with a small group to plan and perform a simple drama that shows good civic behaviour.
  4. Say why we should respect the National Anthem and the pledge when we hear them.
  5. Use the new vocabulary words correctly while acting out their drama scenes.
