Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.3.3.1.6 - Recognize and describe some simple repeating non-numerical patterns (up to a repetition of 3, 1, 2 pattern).

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify and name a simple repeating pattern using everyday objects or pictures (e.g., spoon, cup, spoon, cup).
Continue a repeating pattern of up to three elements (a 3, 1, 2 pattern) by selecting the correct next object or picture.
Describe a pattern in simple words, such as “red, red, blue, red, red, blue” or “clap, stomp, stomp”.
Create their own simple repeating pattern using classroom materials or body movements.
Show care and orderliness when arranging pattern cards, linking order and neatness to good civic behaviour.
