Learning Objectives
Indicator: K2.3.3.1.6 - Recognize and describe some simple repeating non-numerical patterns (up to a repetition of 3, 1, 2 pattern).
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and name a simple repeating pattern using everyday objects or pictures (e.g., spoon, cup, spoon, cup).
- Continue a repeating pattern of up to three elements (a 3, 1, 2 pattern) by selecting the correct next object or picture.
- Describe a pattern in simple words, such as “red, red, blue, red, red, blue” or “clap, stomp, stomp”.
- Create their own simple repeating pattern using classroom materials or body movements.
- Show care and orderliness when arranging pattern cards, linking order and neatness to good civic behaviour.
