Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.3.3.1.4 - Identify the letter-sound learnt for the week in words related to the theme and write the letter and key word boldly and legibly in their books.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Say the target letter sound for the week (the letter “Gg”, sound /g/) correctly when shown the letter card.
  2. Identify words related to national and civic values that begin with the target letter sound, such as “Ghana”, “good”, and “great”.
  3. Trace and write the uppercase and lowercase letter “Gg” boldly and legibly in their exercise books.
  4. Write the key word “Ghana” neatly on writing lines from left to right.
  5. Point to the letter “G” at the beginning of a word and say its sound when asked.
