Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.1.3.2.1 - Identify things to do to stay safe on roads

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. List at least five things they must do to stay safe on the road, such as using the pavement, crossing at pedestrian crossings, and obeying traffic lights.
  2. Explain the meaning of each colour on a traffic light: red means stop, yellow means get ready to stop, and green means go.
  3. Demonstrate the correct way to cross a road safely using a pedestrian crossing or a lollipop person.
  4. Draw and colour a traffic light with the correct colours in the correct order.
  5. Discuss with peers how road safety shows responsibility towards themselves and others in the community.
