Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.1.5.1.3

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Say the initial (beginning) sound of names of objects in the environment, such as /s/ for sand and /b/ for blade.
  • Say the ending (final) sound of names of objects in the environment, such as /d/ for sand and /r/ for fire.
  • Clap the syllables in selected words related to harmful objects around us, such as blade (1 clap), razor (2 claps), and kerosene (3 claps).
  • Sort at least three object names by their initial sounds when the teacher calls them out.
  • Point to or name a harmful object in the environment and correctly identify both its initial and ending sounds with teacher support.
