Learning Objectives
Indicator: K2.1.5.1.2 - Learners ask questions and find answers to them as they listen attentively to the text read aloud to them.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the cover page, back page, author and illustrator of a book about the environment.
- Listen attentively to the big book “Adzoa has malaria” read aloud, without interrupting.
- Ask at least one question about the character or events in the story.
- Answer simple questions about why Adzoa got sick and what she could have done differently.
- Share one thing they learned about keeping the environment clean with a peer and with the whole group.

* Show a book on the environment, let learners identify the cover page, the back page, the illustrator and the author. * Ask them to share what they have learnt about keeping the environment clean with their peers and then with the whole group. * Read the big book aloud (Adzoa has malaria) and ask questions about the character and the reason why she got sick of malaria. * Discuss actions we can take not to get sick or hurt.
