Learning Objectives

Indicator: K1.1.5.1.6 - Begin to write letters of the alphabet.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Clap and shake their wrists and fingers while singing a local song to warm up their hands for writing
  • Trace the letter of the week in the air following the teacher’s demonstration
  • Write the letter of the week in sand using their fingers
  • Write the letter of the week on a slate using chalk
  • Talk about how writing letters helps us share messages about keeping our environment clean
