Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.3.2.1.5 - Talk about how others make their art work to project good manners in the society.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Look at different greeting cards and describe what they see on them (pictures, words, colours).
  2. Explain at least two different purposes of greeting cards, such as saying thank you, saying sorry, or wishing someone well.
  3. Talk about the steps someone follows to make a greeting card, using words like fold, draw, write, and decorate.
  4. Create their own simple greeting card using given materials and copy polite words onto it.
  5. Present their greeting card to a friend or family member and say one polite sentence that goes with it.

Show different greeting cards to learners and explain the different ways we use the cards. E.g. Greet people we have not seen for some time, say thank you, say sorry, wish people well etc. Demonstrate how greeting cards are made;

Provide learners with different writing tools and cards and have them make greeting cards to appreciate their friends and family. Let them copy the polite words in the cards.
