Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.5.1.1.2 - Demonstrate how to apply the moral teachings from the three main religions in their daily life

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. State at least three moral teachings from each of the three main religions (Bible, Qur’an, and Oral Traditions) and give one example of how each can be applied in daily life.
  2. Demonstrate the application of a moral teaching from any of the three religions through role-play or dramatisation.
  3. Assess their own ease or difficulty in applying specific moral teachings and give reasons for their assessment.
  4. Work collaboratively in groups to sort moral teachings into those that are easy to apply and those that are difficult to apply, and justify their choices.
  5. Propose at least two practical steps they can take this week to apply a moral teaching they currently find difficult.

1. Discuss the application of the moral teachings in their daily life
2. Dramatise the moral teachings of the three major religions.
Project Work
Divide class into three groups and ask each group to arrange the moral teachings of each of the three religions that have been discussed according to those that they find easy to apply in their daily lives and those they find difficult to apply. Learners should offer reasons for their choices and submit the work anonymously in a box. Teacher should use the choices of learners in a discussion to help learners improve on the application of the moral teachings.
