By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Name the four military regimes that ruled Ghana between 1966 and 1993.
  • Identify the leader of each military regime and state the name of the regime he headed.
  • State the year each military takeover occurred and how long each regime lasted.
  • Describe one key event or slogan associated with each military regime.
  • Define the terms “coup d’état” and “military regime” in their own words.
