Learning Objectives
Indicator: B9.2.1.1.4 - Experiment by using techniques in construction using available media to create own ideas and make visual artworks
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and name at least four construction techniques (stitching, gluing, stapling, tying, weaving) by observing and discussing real artworks and images from local and international artists such as El Anatsui and Ibrahim Mahama.
- Select suitable found objects from the school environment and explain why each object is appropriate for their intended artwork.
- Design and produce an original construction artwork that combines at least two different joining techniques and expresses a personal idea or theme.
- Use art-specific vocabulary (form, line, texture, colour, shape) to describe and critique their own work and the work of peers during a class display and reflection session.
- Complete the construction project within the allocated lesson time and present it neatly in the class display area for appreciation and evaluation.
