Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.2.1.2.5

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Sing triads built on all seven degrees of the scale melodically (as arpeggios) with correct pitch and rhythm.
  2. Sing triads built on all seven degrees of the scale harmonically in a group of four voice parts.
  3. Identify the seven degrees of the scale (I to VII) and state the notes that form the triad on each degree in the key of C major.
  4. Hold the final note of each arpeggio with a long pause as directed, demonstrating breath control and pitch stability.
  5. Work cooperatively in vocal groups, listening to other parts and adjusting their own pitch to achieve harmony.
