Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.2.1.1.2 - Experiment by using techniques in print making to generate own ideas and make visual artworks

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least three printmaking techniques (low/relief, stencil, and block printing) and state the materials needed for each.
  2. Design an original motif inspired by personal experiences, Ghanaian symbols, or everyday objects found in their environment.
  3. Create two printmaking artworks using two different techniques (for example, a stencil print and a block print) from their own generated ideas.
  4. Apply the principles of contrasting and harmonious colours when choosing ink or paint for their prints.
  5. Display completed prints for peer evaluation, using the language of printmaking (pattern, stencil, block, contrasting colour, harmonious colour) to give and receive feedback.
