Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.3.1.1.2 - Demonstrate how to use the tools and equipment for measuring and marking out

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Demonstrate the correct use of at least five measuring and marking out tools across two different work areas (e.g., wood work, sewing, kitchen).
  2. Select and justify the appropriate measuring and marking out tool for a given task, such as making a wooden chair, a sheet metal funnel, or setting out a wall.
  3. Perform accurate measuring and marking out to produce a simple product (e.g., a wooden nameplate or a fabric bag) following given specifications.
  4. Demonstrate proper care and maintenance of measuring and marking out tools, including cleaning and oiling metal parts.
  5. Prepare a simple chart showing activities and the appropriate measuring and marking out tools used for each.
