Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.1.1.LI.1

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Define art and design studio etiquette and list at least five critical principles to observe before and during a studio visit.
Explain the implications of studio etiquette for teaching and learning the subject, using at least two concrete examples.
Analyse photographs and videos of real art studios to identify how artists store ongoing projects and finished works, and justify the storage choices made.
Demonstrate correct conduct when handling, processing and storing art materials in the school studio through a practical role-play activity.
Design and present a simple chart or infographic showing studio etiquettes for different stages of the art-making process.

Group Work/ Collaborative Learning: In small mixed groups, investigate and discuss how art materials are processed and stored in the studio.
Problem-Based Learning; Group Work/ Collaborative Learning : In small inclusive groups, analyse, by looking at photographs and watching videos, multiple ways used by artists to store ongoing projects and finished art and design work.
