Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.1.1.1.3 - Discuss the importance of specific solids to life
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least five different solids in their immediate environment and state how each one supports the survival of humans or other life forms.
- Explain why certain solid materials, such as soil, rocks, wood, and metals, are essential for human survival and the survival of other living things.
- Use information gathered from the internet or other sources to explain why it is important to preserve useful solid materials in the environment.
- Create a model of a useful object from solid materials and present a short explanation of how the object supports life.
- Make a judgement about a scenario where a solid material is being wasted or destroyed, and give reasons for their viewpoint.
