Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.1.1.1.1 - Classify materials into liquids, solids and gases

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Sort at least 10 materials collected from their environment into solids, liquids and gases with 100% accuracy.
  2. Complete a table recording the texture, appearance, colour and shape of at least 5 different materials.
  3. State at least two distinguishing properties of each state of matter (solids, liquids and gases).
  4. Give at least three examples of solids, liquids and gases found in their own homes, school or community.
  5. Explain, using their own words, the difference between how particles behave in a solid, liquid and gas.
