Indicator: 3.4.2.LI.2 - Impact of woodwork industry on the environment

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Explain the meaning of environmental impact of the woodwork industry in their own words.
  2. Identify at least four types of waste generated by the woodwork industry and describe how each affects the environment.
  3. Discuss in mixed-ability groups the negative effects of woodwork industry waste on air, water, soil, and living organisms.
  4. Propose at least three practical ways to reduce the environmental impacts of timber products and woodwork activities.
  5. Justify the importance of sustainable practices in the woodwork industry for the future of Ghana’s forests.
