Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.4.2.LI.1 - Basic Techniques in Mass production in Furniture Industry
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define mass production and explain at least three basic techniques used in the furniture industry in Ghana.
- Distinguish between mass production, batch production, and one-off (custom) production using local furniture industry examples.
- Discuss at least three advantages and three disadvantages of mass production in the Ghanaian furniture industry.
- Identify the role of machines, jigs, templates, and standardised parts in mass production of furniture.
- Work cooperatively in mixed-gender, mixed-ability groups to present findings on mass production techniques and their effects on the timber industry.
