Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.1.2.LI.2 - Analyse how selected analogue and digital media in nature and the built environment contribute to solving societal problems through the artworks they are used to create.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify and classify at least five analogue media and five digital media found in nature and the built environment in their local area.
  2. Explain, with specific examples, how at least three analogue media (e.g., clay, wood, fabric) and three digital media (e.g., design software, digital cameras, 3D printers) are used to create artworks that solve societal problems.
  3. Analyse a selected artwork from Ghana’s built environment, describing the media used and the specific societal problem it addresses or solves.
  4. Work collaboratively in mixed-ability groups to document (through photographs, sketches, or video) five examples of media-based artworks in their environment and present findings to the class.
  5. Propose one original artwork or design idea that uses either analogue or digital media to solve a specific problem in their school or community, justifying their media choice.
