Learning Objectives
Indicator: 1.1.2.LI.3 - Discuss the basic methods for preparing and storing art media
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain at least three reasons why proper preparation and storage of art media are important for the quality and lifespan of artworks.
- Describe the basic preparation methods for at least four categories of art media (clay, pigments/dyes, canvas/fabric, and carving materials).
- Demonstrate correct storage practices for different art media, including labeling, wrapping, and environmental considerations.
- Prepare a small batch of clay or pigment for studio use, following the correct steps.
- Work collaboratively in mixed-ability groups to produce a pictorial chart showing preparation and storage methods for different art media categories.
