Learning Objectives
Indicator: 2.2.1.LI.1 - Reproduce map by reduction and enlargement
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain the meaning of map reduction and map enlargement in their own words.
- Identify the scale of a given topographical map and calculate the new scale after reduction or enlargement using a scale factor.
- Apply the grid method to reproduce a simple map at a reduced or enlarged scale on graph paper.
- Transfer important physical and human features (such as rivers, roads, settlements, and spot heights) accurately onto a reproduced map.
- Justify the choice of a suitable scale factor when reproducing a map for a specific purpose, such as fitting a map onto a smaller page or showing more detail.

Project-based Learning: Engage in an artwork by reducing and enlarging a given map individually and insert important physical and human features. Learners during discussions should provide opportunities for others to practice identifying potential situations or experiences that lead to feeling overwhelmed and struggling to manage emotions.
