Learning Objectives
Indicator: B9.2.2.1.1 - Examine ways of creating and interpreting maps.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define a map in their own words and state at least three uses of maps in everyday life.
- Identify and describe at least four features of a map, including the title, key (legend), scale, and compass direction.
- Distinguish between at least three types of maps (physical, political, and road maps) and give an example of when each is used.
- Create a simple map of the school compound showing the scale, key, and an eight-point compass, working collaboratively in pairs.
- Interpret a given map by reading its key and scale and describing the location of features using compass directions.
