Learning Objectives
Indicator: B9.5.4.1.2 - Create advanced articles using crocheting and embroidery stitches
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and describe at least four advanced crocheting stitches and four embroidery stitches, stating their specific uses in article construction.
- Explain the steps involved in creating a crocheted article and an embroidered article, sequencing the process from material gathering to finishing.
- Create one advanced article using crocheting or embroidery stitches, such as a handbag, purse, baby shoe, or decorated fabric piece, following correct stitch techniques.
- Appraise their own and peers’ finished articles against a given set of criteria, giving reasons for their judgements.
- Justify their choice of stitches, materials, and tools for their article, linking their choices to the purpose and durability of the finished product.

E.g. Shoes-to protect one's foot/feet. 3. Make advanced articles using crocheting and design or make patterns to decorate using embroidery stitches. E.g. Hand bags, jackets/cardigans, shoes (baby and adult) and purse. 4. Plan and mount an exhibition of products for appraisal.
