Learning Objectives
Indicator: B4.1.7.1.7 - Strike a self-tossed light weight ball with a paddle or racket to a partner.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Demonstrate the correct grip and ready position for holding a paddle or racket when preparing to strike a ball.
- Toss a lightweight ball upward with one hand and strike it with a paddle or racket using an underhand movement pattern.
- Strike a self-tossed lightweight ball to a partner standing at a short distance (3 to 5 metres) with controlled force and direction.
- Adjust the force of the strike to send the ball over varying distances to a partner.
- Apply the side orientation (standing sideways to the target) when striking a gently tossed ball with a bat or paddle.
