Learning Objectives

Indicator: B4.1.8.1.10 - Catch a ball above the head and near the middle of the body while jogging and running.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Catch a ball thrown above the head while jogging at a slow speed.
  2. Catch a ball thrown near the middle of the body while running at a moderate speed.
  3. Position their hands correctly (fingers spread, thumbs together for high catches; fingers down for low catches) for different ball heights.
  4. Track a ball with their eyes from the thrower’s hand until it reaches their hands.
  5. Demonstrate accuracy and control in catching while moving, without stopping to trap the ball.
