Learning Objectives
Indicator: B4.1.4.1.4
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Describe the correct body position for an inverted balance (tripod), naming the three points of contact.
- Demonstrate a tripod balance by placing both hands and the top of the head on the floor to form a triangle shape.
- Distribute body weight evenly across the three support points to hold the balance for at least 5 seconds.
- Identify and apply safety rules for performing inverted balances, including using a mat and having a peer spotter.
- Support a classmate in performing the tripod balance by providing physical and verbal assistance as needed.
