Learning Objectives

Indicator: B4.1.1.1.1 - Demonstrate the difference between slow and fast, heavy and light, hard and soft while moving.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Demonstrate slow and fast movements using walking, jogging and running in a demarcated area.
  2. Identify and describe the difference between heavy and light movements (such as stomping versus tiptoeing) with at least two examples of each.
  3. Perform hard and soft movements (such as strong punches versus gentle pushing motions) and explain when each is appropriate.
  4. Respond correctly to verbal commands (slow, fast, heavy, light, hard, soft) by changing their movement quality within 3 seconds.
  5. Observe and classify a peer’s movement as slow or fast, heavy or light, hard or soft, giving a reason for their choice.
