Learning Objectives
Indicator: B2.1.9.1.11 - Kick a stationary ball using a smooth continuous running approach.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Demonstrate a smooth continuous running approach of about 5 metres towards a stationary ball.
- Kick a stationary ball forward using the instep of the foot with correct body positioning.
- Control the direction of the kicked ball so that it travels straight towards a target.
- Show balance and coordination by keeping eyes on the ball throughout the approach and kick.
- Work cooperatively with partners, taking turns and offering encouragement during practice.

Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)
After taking learners through warm-ups, place a ball at stationary position. Move back about 5m away from the ball. Run and kick the ball forward with the instep of the foot. Guide learners to practice the skill, observe and give them corrective feedback. Ensure that learners progress at their own pace.
