Learning Objectives

Indicator: B1.1.3.1.3 - Roll a ball from stationary position using hands.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Demonstrate the correct starting position for rolling a ball, with feet apart, trunk bent forward, and palm placed behind the ball.
  2. Roll a ball forward from a stationary position while walking, using only their hands.
  3. Roll a ball forward while jogging and running, maintaining control and direction.
  4. Follow teacher demonstrations and practise rolling the ball individually and in small groups.
  5. Engage in a mini game that requires rolling a ball, showing enjoyment and fair play.

After taking learners through the general and specific warm-ups, demonstrate to learners how to roll a ball from stationary using hands by placing a ball in front, bend the trunk forward and place the palm behind the ball, roll the ball forward whiles moving from one point to another (from walking to jogging and to running. Guide learners to practice individually and in groups.
Observe them practice at their own pace and give corrective feedback for correct skill mastery. Learners can further use bats or sticks to roll the ball to challenge the fast learners.
Organise mini game for learners for fun and enjoyment to prevent boredom.Take learners through cool down to end the lesson
