Learning Objectives
Indicator: K2.6.2.1.4 - Tap and clap and count the syllables of the names of animals and lines of the song.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Tap and clap the syllables in the names of at least four common animals (such as cow, goat, sheep, chicken, lion, elephant).
- Count the number of claps or taps for each animal name and say the number aloud.
- Clap the syllables in the first line of “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” and count the claps.
- Sing along with “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” while clapping the syllables of the animal names in the song.
- Substitute parts of the first line of the song with claps and count the claps together as a class.
