Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.1.2.1.1 - Listen to audio-visual texts attentively and support ideas with vocabulary/language/figures

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Listen to and watch an audio-visual text of about 200 words and identify key information: the message, theme, tone, mood, and character.
  2. Use precise vocabulary and language from the audio-visual text to support their stated ideas and opinions.
  3. Make simple inferences about the purpose, intention, and theme or message of the audio-visual text.
  4. Connect themes and messages from the audio-visual text to their own personal experiences and real-life situations in Ghana.
  5. Write key information from an audio-visual text in point form within a set time.

- Listen to and watch audio-visuals for about two hundred (200) words per two (2) minutes and write key information (message, theme, tone, mood, character) from them. Examples of audio -visual texts include:
  - Films
  - Television programmes
  - Documentaries
  - Recordings
  - Radio programmes
  - Music videos
  - Dramas
- Make inferences (about purpose, intention, theme/ message) and simple connections to real life and personal experiences.
