Learning Objectives

Indicator: B4.1.7.1.7 - Compare and contrast information (two or more ideas) from texts

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. identify similarities and differences between two short texts read aloud by the teacher.
  2. use comparison and contrast signal words (both, also, similarly, but, however, while, on the other hand) to express ideas from texts.
  3. complete a simple Venn diagram to organise information from two texts.
  4. answer oral and written questions that require comparing and contrasting two or more ideas from texts.
  5. explain, in their own words, what it means to compare and what it means to contrast.
