Learning Objectives

Indicator: B3.1.7.1.2 - Recognise and relate the sequence of events in stories

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Listen attentively to a narrative text read aloud by the teacher and recall at least three major events from the story in the correct order.
  2. Identify and name the beginning, middle and end parts of a story they have heard.
  3. Use sequence words such as “first,” “then,” “next” and “finally” to retell events from a story in the correct order.
  4. Work in groups to arrange picture cards or sentence strips from a story into the correct sequence and explain their choices.
  5. Respond to simple questions about what happened before or after a specific event in a story.
