Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.1.2.1.1 - Show listening skills and strategies while listening to discussion after reading a text.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify and name at least four listening strategies (eye contact, no interrupting, watching nonverbal cues, restating, using encouragers, asking probing questions) used during a discussion about a school environmental activity.
  2. Demonstrate active listening by maintaining eye contact and avoiding interruptions while a partner speaks about a school reading text.
  3. Restate, in Arabic, what a speaker has said about a school activity, using their own words to confirm understanding.
  4. Ask at least two probing questions in Arabic to clarify or extend the speaker’s message about the text.
  5. Watch and interpret basic nonverbal cues (nodding, head shaking, facial expressions) and respond appropriately during a paired discussion.
