Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.1.2.2.1 - Show ability to respond to questions about parents and their professions and those of others.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify the Arabic names of at least six professions, including those of parents, when heard in a spoken question or sentence.
Respond correctly in Arabic to the question “ما مهنة أبيك؟” (What is your father’s profession?) using the appropriate masculine profession name.
Respond correctly in Arabic to the question “ما مهنة أمك؟” (What is your mother’s profession?) using the appropriate feminine profession name.
Ask a classmate in Arabic about the profession of their parent or another person and give an appropriate answer to the same question when asked.
Use the model question-and-answer pattern to talk about casual work using “ما مهنتك؟” (What is your job?).
