Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.1.2.3.1 - Recognise sounds in an audio with their corresponding meanings in greetings and responses.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify by ear the four time-based greetings (good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and you are welcome) when played in an audio recording.
  2. Match each greeting sound to its correct meaning and the time of day it is used.
  3. Produce the correct response to each greeting when they hear it spoken aloud.
  4. Distinguish between the greeting and the response forms of each phrase when listening.
  5. Use appropriate tone and pronunciation when repeating the greetings and responses after the audio.
