Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.3.3.LI.2 - Analyse the role of the judiciary in overseeing administrative actions of the government and providing avenues for redress
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain the constitutional basis for the judiciary’s power to review administrative actions of the government in Ghana.
- Describe at least five judicial remedies available to citizens whose rights have been infringed upon by administrative bodies.
- Analyse a case scenario and identify the appropriate judicial remedy for the violation described.
- Discuss the conditions that must be met before a citizen can apply for a judicial remedy.
- Assess the limitations of the legal framework in Ghana and propose practical ways of improving access to justice for ordinary citizens.
