Indicator: B3.4.4.1.1 - Make a list of objects found in the environment

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Name at least five objects found in a given place such as a bus stop, market, or classroom.
  2. Write a simple list of objects using invented spelling where necessary and progress toward standard spelling.
  3. Arrange a list of objects under a clear title or heading.
  4. Read their list aloud to a partner or the class with confidence.
  5. Edit and self-correct spelling errors in their list using a picture dictionary, word wall, or teacher support.

e.g. The Bus Stop.
- Let groups and pairs make similar lists from self-chosen or given areas. They may use invented spelling initially.
- Guide learners to edit and self-correct the errors before presenting their work to the class. They may use children's pictures, dictionaries and other sources.
