Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.4.1.LI.2 - Discuss the use of elements of poetry in varied selected poems
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least five elements of poetry (imagery, diction, tone, mood, rhythm, rhyme, theme, figurative language) in selected poems.
- Explain how two or more poetic elements work together to create meaning in a given poem.
- Discuss, in task groups, how the elements of poetry are used in a selected poem, using accurate poetic terminology.
- Present their analysis to the class with clear spoken expression and confident presentation skills.
- Respond respectfully to peers’ presentations by asking constructive questions and building on one another’s ideas.
